I am a great fan of word-apps and websites. This is probably because I enjoy writing and public speaking. The more I write and speak though, the more aware I become of how critically important the meanings of words are - it's communication that creates understanding!
We use words to define people and places, emotions and reality, states of mind and body, and so on. In this vein, I recently came across an unfamiliar word that describes people with ADHD.
Temporizer or temporiser - depending on which flavour of English you speak or write.
A temporizer is someone who waits for a favourable time to do something, tries to gain time, or gets ahead of time. This is a good thing as there are no batteries in which we can ‟save” time!
On the negative side, temporizers will also delay doing things, and even cause projects to run late. In this sense, we are simply procrastinators!
I hereby propose that when we are trying to get ahead of time - by whatever method, we refer to ourselves as temporizers. In the negative sense, we shall be known as simple procrastinators.
Let the word temporizer make a difference in your life. Get ahead of time.
