elder152866 OCVWe all have different views on Christmas time. The month of December is a time of bonuses, of spending on the feasts to come, and of course the buying of gifts for family, and even friends.santa1866616 Jo Justino

From every written page, billboard, TV screen and radio channel we are bombarded with well-meaning - but trite - words exhorting us to be good to others, to do everything with joy, be merry, experience the magic of Christmas, and so on.

It is also a time for family. I mean extended family, the grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins that you saw last Christmas, and that wasn´t too pleasant.

For many ADHD people Christmas is anticipated with dread, because there are vivid and stark memories - and reasons why you don´t see all those family people during the rest of the year.

Not pitching up only makes things instantly worse, even so far as being ostracised from the family - permanently!

Over the next two weeks, i.e., the first two weeks of December, I will provide you with some techniques to get your own head ‟right” for the family get together, and how to engineer some change in the other family members, not easy, but at the minimum, it will provide for a more pleasant holiday, which usually only comes around once a year!
