Who Can Diagnose ADHD and/or prescribe medication for ADHD?
- Psychiatrist (can diagnose and prescribe appropriate medication)
- Paediatrician (can diagnose and prescribe appropriate medication)
- General Practitioner (GP) (can diagnose and prescribe appropriate medication if they are competent in working with mental health disorders - they will usually refer you to a Psychiatrist or Paediatrician)
- Psychologist (usually a clinical, child or educational psychologist who can diagnose but not prescribe)
Dave Pughe-Parry does not diagnose any medical condition and does not prescribe medication.
He is an ADHD Coach who has ADHD and has spent the last 20+ years coaching, training and supporting Adults, Educators, Parents and Medical Professionals. He is highly respected by the medical professionals and educators he works with.
Wherever possible we invite medical professionals who are expert in ADHD to speak at our talks, workshops and conferences.

ADHD is a complex condition and there is no magic bullet. There is no cure but it can be managed by integrating various medical and non-medical treatments.
Dave has always worked with Psychiatrists, Psychologists, GPs, Nutritionists, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists and providers of supplements that have been proven to assist in the management of ADHD.
We have held 2 conferences where we have had separate streams for Parents, Educators and Medical Professionals.
Dave has also spoken at the Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company KID (Knowledge in Discussion) talks to Medical Professionals which were held around South Africa.
Colleen Adnams, Vera Grover Professor of Intellectual Disability - University of Cape Town and Founder member and executive committee member of the Paediatrics Neurology and Developmental Association of Southern Africa (PANDA) wrote the foreword to our 1st book, I am Audacious, Original and Innovative ...
